Each year the Burton Rotary Club selects a Burton firefighter as the “Firefighter Of The Year”. March 4th was a great night for Burton Fire and Rescue when Anthony (Tony) Lachcik was honored with this prestigious award.
Tony joined the department in October of 2005 and is a third generation firefighter. His father Tim is still on the department and they both respond out of Station #1 at Bristol and Saginaw.
Tony has shown great progress in the time he has been a member of the department and is working hard to make advances within the department. For a short period of time Tony was a Provisional Lieutenant and was commended by his Battalion Chief, Kirk Wilkinson. He is presently taking officer classes in order that when the time comes for a permanent position he will be ready. During the time he was a Lieutenant, Tony earned respect from the crew at Station #1. Everyone in fire administration is very proud of Tony Lachcik.
Battalion Chief, Kirk Wilkinson who has been very impressed with Tony’s performance and was proud to take part in the program, presented Tony’s award to him. Tony was very humble in accepting this award.
Burton Fire and Rescue thanks the Burton Rotary Club for this wonderful program and it is our honor to be part of it.
